Brig. Gen. (s) Jason N. Schramm is the Deputy Commander, Space Training and Readiness Command, headquartered at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida. As deputy commander he is responsible for preparing the U.S. Space Force and more than 14,000 military and civilian Guardians to prevail in competition and conflict through innovative education, training, doctrine and test activities.
Brig. Gen. (s) Schramm commissioned through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Notre Dame in August, 1998. He completed Undergraduate Space and Missile Training in April, 1999 with a follow-on assignment as an ICBM Combat Crew Member. He has served in a variety of staff assignments at the NAF, MAJCOM, Combatant Command, and Joint Staff levels, and deployed twice to the Middle East in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He commanded at both the Squadron and Delta level, including as the first Commander of Space Delta 1 and as the Deputy Commander of US Space Forces Indo-Pacific.
Prior to this assignment he was The Secretary of the Air Force's Deputy Inspector General for Space, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. In this role, he was responsible to The Inspector General (SAF/IG) for assessing warfighting effectiveness and combat readiness, and ensuring the highest standards and compliance for the United States Space Force. In addition, he oversaw fraud, waste, and abuse investigations and provided oversight of the complaints resolution program.
