Colonel LEAH C. SHUBIN Colonel Leah C. Shubin is the Commander, Space Delta 10, Space Training and Readiness Command, Patrick SFB, Florida. She is responsible for leading Space Force wargaming and doctrine development as well as assisting with operational concept refinement, advising force design, and leading the Service’s lessons learned program. Space Delta 10 prepares Guardians for Great Power Competition while forging critical partnerships for space security across industry, academia, and numerous allied nations through events like the Schriever Wargame Series. Prior to her current command, Shubin served as the Senior Executive Officer to the Vice Chief of Space Operations for the United States Space Force, the Pentagon, Washington D.C. Colonel Shubin received her commission from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, and subsequently served nearly 20 years as a UH-60 Blackhawk Assault Aviator prior to her selection to transfer to the U.S. Space Force in 2023. Her career has spanned a range of consequential assignments in operational and leadership positions in peacetime and war. Colonel Shubin deployed five times with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) “Screaming Eagles” in her first ten years of service. There she led Soldiers in combat operations and flew nearly 1,000 combat hours on air movement and air assault missions in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Resolute Support, as well as an operational deployment conducting drug interdiction with the U.S. DEA. Her strategic level assignments include Chief of Plans and Engagements in the U.S. Army Forces Command Commanding General’s Initiatives Group, Special Assistant (SA) to the Commanding General (Korea), as well as SA to the Director of the Staff, U.S. Space Force (Pentagon). Colonel Shubin graduated as a member of the inaugural USSF senior service college West Space Scholars cohort at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (JHU SAIS) with a Master of International Public Policy. She is currently continuing her education in the JHU SAIS Doctor of International Affairs program with expected completion in May 2027.
