Colonel PETER “CHARLIE” NORSKY

Col. Charlie Norsky is the Commander of Delta 1, headquartered at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. He commands the Training Delta with personnel located across five states. Delta 1 is responsible for producing space, cyber, and intel warfighters through basic training, initial skills training, advanced training courses, and exercises, ensuring the United States Space Force’s ability to field combat-ready forces. The units under his command within Delta 1 are the 1st Delta Operations Squadron, the 319th and 392d Combat Training Squadrons, the 328th Weapons Squadron, and the 533d Training Squadron.

Col. Norsky entered the Air Force in 2002 as a distinguished graduate of the Air Force ROTC program at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. Throughout his early career, he served in a variety of positions at the squadron and group levels in missile warning operations, training, evaluation, operational testing, and weapons and tactics. Col. Norsky has also served with Combined Joint Task Force One as a Space Liaison Officer in Afghanistan, providing space effects to more than 30,000 combat troops in theater. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School, the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies, and the National War College. Col. Norsky also completed his squadron command tour as the Commander of the 2d Space Operations Squadron, Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado.

Prior to his current assignment, Col. Norsky was Chief of the Integration Division on the United States Space Force Headquarters Staff.
